Hey guys,

As some of you may know I am this close to getting a new car(74 RX-4) that is on Long Island,NY. I went to see it a couple of weeks ago,and when I did I drove from MA to New London,CT,and took the ferry to Orient Point,NY. From there I drove to the sellers house, and looked at the car. I couldn't take the Orient Point ferry back as it was all booked up. So I drove about 15-20 minutes to Port Jefferson,NY,and took the ferry back to Bridgeport,CT. This all was in my full sized van,and while it was expensive I really enjoyed the trip, and it saved a lot of driving, and hassle in traffic.

I was thinking about maybe driving down to Bridgeport, and take the ferry to Port Jeff on foot. I can have the seller meet/pick me up at the ferry in Port Jeff then drive back from Bridgeport to MA. The only issue with this is the car comes with a spare 1B that I want, but without having my van,or another vehicle there it is damn near impossible to get the engine home. The other option is to bring my van,or my wife's van over to get the engine, but now it is well over $150 for transporting the RX-4,and other vehicle back, and forth on the ferry. I guess I could always drive down around the city, and avoid the ferries, but I really don't want to do that if I can avoid it. I also have an option of bringing a truck/van,and car trailer down to tow the car home with the engine, but that is expensive on the ferry, and a pain on the highway unloaded on the way down. Is there even a place to park a truck/trailer in Bridgeport at the ferry if I need to?

Any input/help would be appreciated.

Chris
